Pledging – Giving Forward
We are living through a critical time in our shared history. The world faces existential challenges, with the rise of far-right movements and leaders that seek to scapegoat and disenfranchise the least among us. Our climate continues to shift in alarming ways, as Hurricane Helene demonstrated so keenly. Â Now, more than ever, Asheville needs the courageous and sheltering presence of Unitarian Universalism.
Community Plate
A commitment to justice and equity is a core value of our congregation and one of the ways we live that commitment is through our Community Plate program. Nominations from congregants and friends highlight local organizations that provide necessary services like housing, food, and legal assistance to in-need members of our community. After our Community Plate Committee has selected a receiving organization, half of all undesignated donations are earmarked for this community partner for a one to two month period.
Ministers’ Discretionary Fund
With the generous support of members and friends, the Ministers’ Discretionary Fund (MDF) allows Revs. Audette and Claudia provide confidential financial assistance to members of the congregation who may be going through difficult times. We also rely on members and friends to alert us to folx in our UU Asheville community who may be struggling, so we can reach out – both pastorally, and with assistance as appropriate. Your support of the MDF allows us to be there for our UU Asheville family, in good times and bad.
Legacy Giving
The support of UU Asheville through gifts today and/or after your death to meet long-term needs of the Congregation by giving to our non-operating funds is called  Legacy  Giving.  Some gifts give again and again. Your planned gift can transform the future of our Congregation and ensure that it thrives well into the lives of future generations.
QCDS, Stocks, Bonds, & Mutual Funds
You may wish to give in the form of…
There are significant tax benefits for a donor who transfers stocks, bonds or mutual funds to Foothills Unitarian Church. You can fulfill your pledge, make a undesignated donation or even donate to the Capital Campaign by using this method. Â
In-Kind Donations
While financial commitments are essential to continuing to offer the services and space we do to our community, they aren’t the only way to support our congregation. We understand that not everyone is able to contribute financially, even though they deeply value our community. For those seriously interested in membership, but unable to make a financial commitment, please contact our Connections Coordinator to learn about options for contributing your time and skill. A congregation of our size takes care and work!
Non-Cash Donations
Every Fall we hold our annual Auction Gala where you have an opportunity to donate items, services, or experiences (and also bid on some!). (Contact: Wilma Oman*)
We also host a Holiday Craft Market where you can offer your crafts for sale. (Contact: Sammy Fong*)
Keep an eye on the weekly enews for more opportunities.
Live Boldly, Give Generously
UU Asheville needs your pledge of stewardship — an ongoing commitment to supporting a visionary organization and our sense of shared mission.
